Medical Receptionist with billing/coding - Radiology Johannesburg Central

About the position

Medical Receptionist Radiology, Johannesburg Central
Our clients, based in Central Johannesburg is seeking to recruit a medical receptionist for a radiology practice.

Responsibilities:

• Meet and greet patients in a warm and friendly manner
• Register new patients and capture insurance information
• Manage and schedule patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of healthcare providers' time
• Coordinate and confirm appointments via phone, email, or messaging system
• Handle appointment cancellations and rescheduling as needed
• Medical Aid authorizations and follow up
• Invoicing with a good knowledge of coding
• Advise in blood tests and preparations for scans if necessary
• Send reports to other healthcare providers
• Answer and direct incoming phone calls and emails to the appropriate individual
• Respond to inquiries from patients, families, and other healthcare providers with professionalism and courtesy.
• Relay messages accurately and in a timely manner
• Taking and receipting of payments
• Perform general clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, filing, and maintaining the office

Qualification and Requirements:

• Matric
• At least 2-3 years experience in a similar medical receptionist position
• Microsoft Office experience is essential
• Any medical patient software system is beneficial
• Any PACS imaging system is beneficial
• Knowledge of medical coding (ICD10 and tariff codes)

Working hours:

• Monday to Friday, shifts of 08h00 17h00 & 09h00 18h00
• Every 2nd/3rd Saturday, 08h00 13h00
• Possible overtime as needed
